Investigation and risk

Jennifer began her career as an HM Inspector of Health and Safety, investigating incidents and assessing risk in high-hazard environments. That early work involved examining how systems, conditions and decisions interact when something goes wrong.

She later moved into international roles, including work with Shell and TNK-BP, where she applied the same evidence-led discipline to organisational risk on a larger scale. Her background also includes occupational health, legal training and expert-witness experience.

From investigation to creation

The move from identifying problems to developing practical provision began with an invitation from an NHS hospital. The gap in suitable skincare and spa treatment for people living with and beyond cancer led to the creation of Beauty Despite Cancer.

That work expanded into professional oncology treatment protocols and specialist therapist education, which in turn grew into broader complex-needs training through Jennifer Young Training. Clinical assessment work followed, and most recently the development of Ergonomics for the Mind.

Current focus

Ergonomics for the Mind is Jennifer’s primary current professional development: a structured method for understanding what affects how a person functions at work and what to do next.

She continues her connection with Jennifer Young Clinic, Jennifer Young Training and Beauty Despite Cancer — separate bodies of work that share the same evidence-led, practical origin.
